Peace For Everyone

This evening there was an anti-war demonstration that also turned out to be an anti-anti-war protest in downtown Miami at the Torch of Friendship. For some reason there are people who hate people that do not believe in war. Although I was not surprised at all these people showed up and demonstrated, I was very disturbed by their behavior in trying to silence the anti-war speakers at the rally. The anti-anti-war people were all about how they were so much more the American and that all the anti-war folks were pinko commies, and at the same time trying to silence the anti-war people. Do you see where I am going with this? All in all the protest was very good and extremely emotional at times. I was very happy to be able to get some photographs of the event. Please view below the cut to see all the photos I have posted.

One of the things I want to do before I die is participate in a protest that really means something to me.

This is a perfect example.

WOW awsome pictures. I love the one with the Native Americans telling Bush to go back to England.

You're getting too good with the camera. :P

I want all those that responded with very strong "anonymous" political rants and sometimes downright rude points of view to know the reason I did not allow your post to be viewed here. First and foremost this is a post about photography and I do not want anything like a war of opinions to take away from that... although I do not agree with your point of view, I do believe in your right to express these views and hope you do get your feelings out there. I do however disagree with your method and that is my opinion. One of the people in your group I know personally and have worked with him many times. I want him to know that although I disagree with his politics I do still have much respect for him. Just because his opinion is different than mine I do not harbor any bad feelings. The majority of your group and the majority of the left at the protest all want the same thing; they just have different opinions as to the best route of getting there. I see way too much hate from both sides. I hope all also understand that the chances of you changing the other sides mind, is as good as them changing yours. This is another reason I did not allow the post to be viewed. In this forum it would have been all for not.

Great pics. I live in Eugene OR and we are like the protest capital (what? You're out of mustard! Where's my sign??)
PS- You don't know me I have a habit of reading random peoples journals when I should be doing math.
